Covid-19 Visitation Policy
Pines Nursing Home allows visitation in accordance with the most current CMS directives and CDC recommendations or as directed by the State of Florida’s Governor or Florida Statue.
TO PROTECT OUR RESIDENTS AND STAFF, THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS & REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER THE FACILITY ARE IN EFFECT.
- Visiting hours are from 7:00am – 9:00pm; 7 days per week
- Visitors will attest that they do not currently have signs or symptoms of COVID and have not had a positive test in the last 10 days.
- Visitors with confirmed COVID-19 infection or compatible symptoms should defer non-urgent in-person visitation until they meet CDC criteria for healthcare settings to end isolation. For visitors who have had close contact with someone with COVID-19 infection, it is safest to defer non-urgent in-person visitation until 10 days after their close contact if they meet criteria described in CDC healthcare guidance (e.g., cannot wear source control).
- If you have had recent exposure to someone with COVID and when Community Transmission is high, visitors are asked to wear a well-fitting facemask while in the facility.
- Regardless of the community transmission level, residents and their visitors when alone in the resident’s room or in a designated visitation area, may choose not to wear face coverings or masks and may choose to have close contact (including touch).
- A resident, client, or patient may designate a visitor who is a family member, friend, guardian, or other individual as an essential caregiver. The provider must allow in-person visitation by the essential caregiver for at least 2 hours daily in addition to any other visitation authorized by the provider. The essential caregiver is not required to provide necessary care to a resident, client, or patient of a provider, and providers may not require an essential caregiver to provide such care.
- Administrative and nursing leadership are responsible for ensuring adherence to the visitation policy.
- Visits will be conducted in resident rooms/apartments, dedicated visitation spaces, or outdoors and will be person-centered to ensure the resident’s psychosocial needs and well-being are met. Outdoor visitation is strongly recommended.
- Visitors will be asked to follow all infection control guidelines outlined on their first visit. We require that you wear a mask at all times upon arrival to our campus. Visitors will not be required to be tested or vaccinated (Or show proof of vaccination) as a condition to visit. Handwashing is encouraged of all visitors before entering the facility
- Visits will be allowed during any COVID-19 outbreak, but visitors will be made aware of the potential risk involved while visiting during an outbreak.
- For residents on transmission-based precautions or quarantine, visits may occur in the resident’s room, and the resident should wear a well-fitted facemask (if tolerated). Simultaneously, visitors to these residents will be made aware of the potential risk and precautions necessary when visiting. All visitors should adhere to the core principles of infection prevention.
- We may suspend in-person visitation of a specific visitor if the visitor violates the policies and procedures.
